The Audi brand in South Africa is well on its way to achieving its sales and premium market share objectives for 2011 following an all-time record sales performance in January.
In the first month of the New Year, the total vehicle market increased by 22% compared to January 2010, and the Audi brand managed to post extremely positive results within the premium market.

Audi of South Africa reported its best sales figures in history with 1 870 units compared to a total of 900 units in January 2010, resulting in a 108% increase in sales year on year. This unprecedented performance gave an impressive premium share of 25.6%.
“We are very pleased with our January sales performance,” said Ryan Searle, General Manager of Audi Sales and Marketing. “We posted an increase in sales across all our model lines with the Audi A4 posting its best ever sales month. “ With our product offensive continuing during 2011, we are confident that our 2011 sales and market share challenges are achievable. The new Audi A1 has been launched and will soon be followed by the new Audi A7 Sportback in March 2011. “Searle concluded.
The Audi A4 remains the number one selling vehicle with 865 units sold followed by the Audi A3 Sportback with 274 units sold.
These sales records have been achieved without the impact growth of the new Audi A1 which will undoubtedly provide a further advantage to the Audi brand in the coming months of 2011.
