As Chevrolet celebrates its 100th anniversary this iconic international automotive brand continues to increase its share of South African vehicle sales as one of the most dynamic brands in the market. The past 18 months have seen a product renaissance in the Chevrolet product line-up as a range of latest generation products has been introduced.
The Johannesburg International Motor Show will generate more excitement for Chevrolet in South Africa as a number of new products are shown for the first time. One of these is the all-new Sonic, which will make its debut in South Africa at the show in both Hatch and Sedan variants.
The Chevrolet Sonic, together with the current Chevrolet Aveo, fits between the popular Chevrolet Spark and Cruze models as a latest generation B segment passenger vehicle. Both 5-door hatch and sedan body styles extend the sporty and youthful vibe experienced with the introduction of the new Spark.
The Sonic has drawn on the extensive Chevrolet global design, engineering and manufacturing resources to realise a vehicle that will compete as a best-in class-offering with regard to exterior styling, interior design and functionality, ride and handling, powertrain performance and quality execution.
Add to this a fully loaded interior specification and an impressive array of active and passive safety features.
The Sonic boasts a sporty and youthful exterior appearance with an interior theme of sporty sophistication. Latest generation power plants from Chevrolet provide for a fun and fuel-efficient driving experience with refined ride and handling characteristics to complement the sporty nature of this exciting new small Chevrolet.
All this comes together in a high quality package engineered to meet the General Motors goal of achieving quality standards that are the best in every segment.
The Sonic Hatch will be launched in South Africa in the coming weeks. Model line-up and pricing will be confirmed at a later stage.
