This year sees Renault Koleos return in style with a new version of the range's high-end crossover, which was originally launched in 2008. The newcomer will be introduced at this year's Frankfurt Show and will take over the model's conquest of some 40 markets from October 2011.
It will then be showcased on the Renault display at the Johannesburg Motor Show, which takes place at Expo Centre, Nasrec, from October 6-16. The Koleos will be introduced to the local market early in 2012.
New Renault Koleos reasserts the dynamic personality of the original thanks to Elegant, but even more expressive front-end styling, while its carefully-finished interior Delivers the expected package of refined appointments and travelling comfort.
The model will be available with either the 2.5-litre petrol engine (TR 25) or the 2.0 dCi diesel (M9R), which itself comes in a choice of two power outputs: 110 or 127kW (150 or 175hp). The CO2 emissions of the diesel powerplants have been reduced significantly and the 4x2 dCi 150 version emits only 148g/km.
New Renault Koleos, which can be specified with either 4x2 or 4x4 transmission, is a genuinely versatile vehicle. It is comfortable and nimble in and about town, yet it boasts real off-road ability and is ideal for escaping the crowd thanks to its all-wheel drive transmission which was developed within the framework of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
Its extensive equipment specification includes all Renault's latest useful and intuitive technologies, including parking sensors, hands-free entry and ignition, joystick-operated Carminat TomTom Live navigation and Hill Start Assist. Depending on market, the catalogue features a choice of two or three equipment levels.
This D-segment vehicle boasts impeccable quality, too. Designed by Renault and manufactured at the Renault Samsung Motors plant in Busan, South Korea, it benefits from Renault's vast experience in the realms of both passive and active safety for a reassuring drive whatever the terrain.
