VIRTUALLY DRIVE NEW FORD RANGER AT JIMS 2011

Ford will feature an interactive display never seen before at a Motor Show in South Africa when the Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) gets underway in October. With a host of exciting new models being unveiled by Ford and the all-new Ranger making its much anticipated South African debut, this year’s show is sure to get tongues wagging.

A state of the art simulator will allow guests to feel the dynamics and test the capabilities of Ford's all-new Ranger pick-up.  The South-African built all-new Ranger makes its public debut at the show, with show goers able to experience the vehicle's characteristics in a virtual environment.

The simulator will demonstrate the tow sway and traction control of the all-new Ranger while performance enthusiasts will even be able to test the sporting credentials of the vehicle by taking it off-road in a race against the clock.

“The Ford stand will feature a number of exciting innovations that will allow customers to experience the real-world benefits of the all-new Ranger in a variety of virtual scenarios,” explains Ben Pillay, Ford Marketing Manager.  “It’s a first in South Africa and is sure to be a hit with the public.”

The public will also have the opportunity to view the all-new Ranger in the metal, with the full line-up of models available for the public to view. The all-new Ranger will be offered in three bodystyles – Single, Super and Double Cab, while two new Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel engines and one proven Ford Duratec petrol engine will be on offer.
